The care and maintenance of your new flooring is just as important as the flooring itself. Proper care and maintenance can add years to the life of your floor. Improper care and maintenance can void manufacturer warranties and cause permanent damage to your floor.
Carpet Quick Tips
- Use the proper padding thickness underneath the carpeting based on usage
- Use mats or rugs at entrances to help prevent tracking of dirt and debris
- Use carpet protectors under furniture legs
- Move furniture around periodically
- Close blinds, curtains, or sheers to prevent sun fade from prolonged direct sunlight
- Vacuum regularly
- Clean annually and spot clean as needed

Countertop Quick Tips
- Use a trivet or pad for setting down hot pots and pans.
- Most counters will chip or dent if they are hit with a heavy object, so try not to bang heavy pots or equipment on them.
- Do your chopping and dicing on a wooden or plastic chopping board, not the bare counter. Chopping boards prevent scratches and dents in the counter surface, which are unsightly and can harbor dangerous bacteria.
